Elementary School Resources

Elementary years are a time when students begin to develop their concept of academics and their aptitude and assurance as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making, communication and life skills, as well as character values. It is also a time when they develop attitudes toward school, self, peers, social groups and family. The knowledge, skills and attitudes that students acquire in their elementary years in academic, career and personal/social development areas serve as the foundation for future success.

Support and programs are available in these areas for elementary students:

  • Goal setting and decision-making
  • Career awareness and exploration
  • Understanding self and others
  • Peer relationships and social skills
  • Communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Individual student planning
